Punta Banco, Costa Rica
La Pin~a Punta Banco Reviews
Authentic Italian Food to die for...pricey, but with so few other extravagances around, you can afford to treat yourself! Aug 12, 2008
La Pin~a can be found about 45 minutes walk from PB and 30 minutes or so from Pavones, on the coastal road.
La Pin~a is an Italian owned restaurant, serving delicious authentic Italian food, and is pretty much the only option going, if you want a posh night out on the tiles in Punta Banco. It is the location for many of the dances held throughout the year, especially between October and December.
Food served, ranges from shared platters of Antipastas and home made Ravioli and pasta, to traditional stone baked pizzas and Italian puddings. The wine list is good if wine is your thing. They have a fully stocked bar if it isn't. The music and the atmosphere are great on a good night and the decor of the place makes it probably the nicest place to eat out if you are wanting to treat yourself.
Very highly recommended. One word to the wise though - The cost of meals here mean that you are unlikely to meet anyone other than foreigners here; mostly Americans, ex-pats and tourists. If you are looking for cultural immersion and 'comida tipica de Costa Rica', head to one of the other eateries I have reviewed instead!
