La Picada de Carlitos
La Picada de Carlitos Reviews
Nov 11, 2006Anyone arriving in Puerto Natales after spending any length of time in Argentina will get a bit of a shock in the price difference. Chile is expensive to say the least. We were pleasantly surprised when we found this little restaurant though. Not bad priced at all and huge portions (great if, like us, you are about to embark/returning from trekking in Torres del Paine and you are very hungry). We had salmon and chips and steak and chips on our first visit. The salmon was massive and very tasty with a big helping of fries. The steak was also gigantic and enough to satisfy a big appetite. You have a choice of accompainments like salads, mash, boiled potatoes etc so it isn't just chips! Both meals cost about Chilean $3,500 each, which is not bad for Chile. The house wine is also very nice and very cheap. If you are in Puerto Natales, give this place a try it is great and won't damage the wallet like most places in this town!! |

Onwards and upwards as they say, and after a night's kip in Che Lagarto Calafate, I was up early again to get my international bus with Zaahj (A$60/£10/$16) over into Chile. Puerto Natales is the main hub for trips into Parque National Torres…… Preparations.... |
