La Petite Auberge Reviews

Jan 31, 2008
This is the best traditional French restaurant I've ever been to. Set in the lovely and elegant town of Newport, Rhode Island, La Petite Auberge (French for the little apartment) is set in an 18th century building. The rooms feel very homey and cozy with fireplaces roaring in the winter time, though these would be the rooms of a definitely upscale home. The service is top notch and friendly. The owner used to cook for Charles de Gaulle. I had the best frog's legs of my life here. Escargot was also excellent as was the softest filet mignon I've ever cut. I can't rave about this place enough. Would love to go back.
