La Petite Auberge Hotel

La Petite Auberge Hotel in Baños is located on the edge of the city centre, in a short walking distance from the thermal baths.
The hotel looks nice enough from the outside, with a nice garden and cute white building with gallery. The rooms are very basic and a bit gloomy though. Since the prices are very low, all in all it has a decent value for your money.
When I was there in 2006, the entire town of Baños had just been evacuated since the active volcano seemed to erupt. For locals it is no more than normal that they have an active volcano in their backyard, tourists should take into account that they may have to leave town at any given moment. With that in mind: why should you stay in a high-end hotel? It’s all about safe flight routes when you are staying in Baños, and since La Petite Auberge is conveniently located, it’s all you need. :-)
