La Mere Brazier Lyon Reviews
A true institution with a new chef Dec 10, 2009
Mathieu Viannay, one of the bright young stars in Lyon's dining scene,Meilleur Ouvrier de France 2004,rated 2 stars in Michelin guide this year runs since October 2008 this true institution.
This place was the restaurant of a female chef named Eugénie Brazier, the first 2 times 3 stars rated chef by Michelin(in Lyon in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20 th century, many restaurants were run by female chefs called les mères, the mothers),then her son and mostly her grand-daughter Jacotte managed it.
We had today as guests the menu"affaires",35 euro that was fine but some of us have have found the tête de veau's sauce and the topping of the lemon's tart a little too "rich" in fact too fatty!
a reciepe of a kingprawn's tartar may be seen on dailymotion:
