La Menora Rabat Reviews
Really nice food Dec 26, 2012
After the experiences that we had entering the country by car I wanted to have a good meal to end the day and after having consulted the hotel reception they recommended the La Menora, which was located not far from the hotel.
It turned out to be an Italian inspired restaurant that was almost empty when we arrived and it also almost stayed like that during our stay. The area that we were staying was mostly an embassy and ministry office area and therefore it was not surprising that it was empty this time of year.
The place was nice and cosy and the food smelled nice from the kitchen. We both ordered a beer to look at the menu. I ordered a traditional soup for a starter while my friend Jacob went for a vegetable salad and both dishes were tasty and spicy.
As main courses we both had ordered Fazine de Veau, or a Royal as the headwaiter called it. The veal was accompanied with plums and figs and which were adding to the dish and the dishes were absolutely perfect. The meat was falling from the bone and the spices worked perfectly with both the meat and the wine we had.
We had taken a local wine that also turned out to be a good choice; well so good that we ended up having 2 bottles. It was a great meal but it would have been nice with some more people there to give it some atmosphere as well. The waiters were good and service minded.
