La Kasbah Reviews
Best view of Agadir Aug 17, 2008
The Kasbah has the best view over Agadir. My favourite time to visit is around sunset. In winter the late afternoon/evening sky is blazing with dramatic shades of red, pink, purple and golden orange... summer can be a little hazy though the view over the city is still magical as the evening lights are switched on, the city flickers with life... Agadir is more beautiful from afar and the view from the Kasbah allows you to appreciate Agadir as a vast, white washed coastal city.
The Kasbah is Agadir's main attraction and cannot be missed... situated high on a hill, on sunset it is illuminated with Arabic script and effective lighting enhances the crown of the Kasbah's ruins at the summit. The road access has recently been improved and it can also be accessed by foot... approx 3km by easy zig-zag road or choose your own more direct path to the top (moderate fitness required)and reach the top in around 30mins. Camel rides and basic light refreshments are often available at the top, at your own expense. |
