Banco Popular is one of the many banks in La Fortuna. This bank is located at the beginning La Fortuna, about a block away from the school. Transaction fee was average and the ATM in inside a room with A/C... bonus!
FYI - this bank only accepts VISA debit cards - NOT MASTERCARD.

Dont bring Travelers checks, it is hard to find places that will take them. And the banks are a nightmare to cash them. I suggest you get a secure visa or mastercad account. Use that the entire time you are there.
