Great antipasti and fish Feb 07, 2001
I have read some very adverse reviews of La Finanzera but I can only write as we found it - and that was very good.The cost rating is based on what we would think of prices at home. By the general standrd of what a meal might be expected to cost in Sicily, perhaps it should be 'very expensive.' That's assuming you eat the main fish course - there are cheaper things.
When you go into the restaurant an elderly gentleman suggests you might care to view the antipasti buffet and the fish.I have never yet found antipasti buffet as a starter in Sicily that has not been very good and this was mouth-watering.
The fish is fresh that day and is charged by weight. Sicilian chefs claim that any given fish tastes better from the Med as the sea is more salty. I wouldn't know but our sea bass was delicious and there was enough of it.
