La Conguita Restaurant Jersey City Reviews
Excellent Food, Drink and Service. Jun 26, 2011
La Conguita Restaurant is an excellent casual Latin restaurant in a quieter area of Grove Street in Jersey City near the hustle and bustle of both Downtown and Newark Avenue.
I visited the restaurant with a friend on a Saturday afternoon.
The menu is excellent with many choices, a brunch menu is available for the end of the week diners. The restaurant DOES have an alcohol license and full bar.
I ordered the bistec con jalapenos, a sandwich consisting of jalapenos, peppers, fried onions, Oaxacan cheese served with fries. The sandwich was excellent, spicy and flavorful. With my meal, I ordered a Famosa, Guatemalan beer.
My friend ordered the pork chops and enjoyed her meal as well.
Service was friendly and attentive.
The interior was clean with scenes of beaches, palm trees painted on the walls. Outdoor seating was available in my June 2011 visit.
A meal for two including a beer, tax and tip was $32.00.
The only thing not-so-cool, has nothing to do with the actual restaurant itself, but the website. Turn down your speakers before visiting :)
Limited street parking is available, but the restaurant is only two streets from the Grove Street PATH Station. If using HBLR use the Marin Blvd Station.
Overall, I highly recommend eating here and will gladly return.
