Situated in the Chianti Hills, La Certosa will provide you with a traditional Tuscan evening. We enjoyed an Antipasta buffet, then progressing to a pasta dinner main course, a dessert, and lots of Chianti wine. All the while, we listened to an opera singer accompanied by a pianist. The staff was friendly and funny, and the views were lovely. We had a very nice evening.

Two views of the entire city:1- from the top of the duomo...nearly 500 steps to the top!2- from piazzale michelangelo...on the top of a hill across the river. it was eerily stormy/ cloudy while we were up there...but it never rained… Duomo and Piazzale Michelangelo

Rome – centre of the ancient world.  Capital of Italy.  City of culture, history and ice cream.  This was one of the places I’ve always wanted to go ever since reading Asterix books as a kid.  And it doesn’t disappoint.&nb…… Rome, Italy - Apparently all roads lead here. So why don’t they drive better?

July 14, we packed up our lunch and headed for the Ponte Vecchio, the bridge over the Arno built in 1345.  The bridge used to be populated by grocery and meat stalls, but in 1593 the Medicis, the ruling family of Florence, decided that wasn’t…… We'll cross the Arno, and tour the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens.
