As I had decided not to spend another day in Copán I figured I might as well take the earliest bus out to my next destination. At 5.30 in the morning I took a chicken bus to San Pedro Sula, which is the second-largest city in Honduras. There isn't an awful lot to see in this city, but it …

Every year a group from my Episcopalian church goes to La Ceiba, Honduras to work with the locals. We take a medical team that provides primary care to the population, a construction team that undertakes small projects and an education team works with a local school. I have been blessed with the opportunity of being part of the medical team for 3 years. It has been a wonderful, most rewarding experience.

Went snorkeling in the morning, for one last look at the reef.  I only had an hour and I wanted to keep looked, but then came to my sense when I got really close to a moray eel that I hadn't noticed.  Also, I collected some coral.  Got back to our hotel, tight schedule as 1, we were …

We were told by the front desk tha the earliest bus leaving to La Ceiba was at 11:15am.  We were eager to get out of Tegus unscathed, so we hired a taxi to take us to the bus terminal.  We were taken to the Christina bus terminal, apparently this is the only bus that has "direct" routes t…

Bus ride to La Ceiba.Views of Honduras which is definitely the poorest place we've been in so far.
