Informal, fun milonga for tourists and locals! Mar 03, 2011
Many tourists fork out lots of money to see a tango show whereas the much better experience is to take a couple of classes and go to a milonga and dance a couple of dances yourself... Tuesdays are the days when La Catedral, a cool grungy converted warehouse not too far from the city centre, becomes a good mix of portenos and gringos. There's a class from 10pm-midnight included in the $15 (Arg. peso) entrance price and then the dancing begins. If you don't want to dance after the class, that's fine - there are loads of tables and the drinks prices are reasonable. Well worth a trip!

Thanks for the tip I was looking for a place where the locals ( tangueros ) go instead of the high price tourist traps
