 Great first meal Jun 07, 2009
Arrived in San Jose and had a couple of hours to kill before our shuttle. We wanted to try a good traditional meal and the taxi driver recommended La Casona.
Out of all the casados we've had in Costa Rica, this place sold the best one. I had the casado de lengua (tongue) and my boyfriend had the steak one. Both had really great flavors and were cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly and continuously came to our table to make sure we were pleased with the food. Prices were decent: casados were $6-8 dollars, appetizer $3, and drinks $1-2. La Casona is VERY close to the airport, close to the Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn airport suites.
