Safe hostal, down town Sep 23, 2009
In Arequipa, ‘the white city’, we were staying three nights in hostal “La Casa de mi Abuela” (Calle Jerusalem 606, Cercado, Arequipa).
Big advantage of this hotel is the location, only six blocks (less than a ten minutes walk) away from the marvellous Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. The hotel feels very safe (a walled garden with a guard at the closed gate). Nice garden with swimming pool. I had a rather basic room, with a private terrace, but all rooms are different. Free use of the internet. Money exchange in a cute little hut in the garden! Should have taken a picture of it :-) Buffet style breakfast at the terrace. Nice spot! In the town of Arequipa, Peru I stayed in a hotel called La Casa de Mi Abuela, which translates to "my grandmother's house." It was a cool place to crash, with bungalows and gardens and such, but I just had to mention it for the name. There was also a restaurant called Zig Zag--yes, in English… Peru, part 1 |
