Dining in La Calèche Mar 25, 2008
It's not easy to find a place to eat if you're with 24 people. But the host of La Calèche made it very clear it was a piece of cake for them as they are used to having groups of 70 people or more.

Because we were in Chamonix, in the Haute-Savoie region, we decided to eat local food and this restaurant offers almost nothing but local food. Great! Being with an international group the restaurant was very special, mostly to the Americans among us. The interior is typical for the region and most of my friends hadn't seen that before.

We had the choice between a 22 euro and a 26 euro menu for a starter, main course and dessert. This turned about to be a fair price, considering the service, ambiance and quality of the food. Like I said, a lot of local dishes such as raclette, fondue and tartiflette. The food from the area is very heavy, they use a lot of cheese. And believe after three courses, I ate so much I could even walk anymore! Definitely worth trying this place!
