Dec 19, 2006 Who'd have thought staying in a room that looked like it was part of a converted lorry cargo container could be so cool? For US$8 a night, you get an air-conditioned room for three, access to the kitchen, a TV in the main room with DVD player and the run of the house. The Argentine owner is great (said Tots, Rob and I were model guests!), smokes for her country and is really chilled. You can hire boards and stuff, but I wouldn't recommend them - their quality is far inferior to the professional shops. Most importantly, the place is painted in a fresian cow motif. No idea why, it seems slightly mad, but looks great. Even the ropey bikes are black and white. Most of all though, the people made it. A fully multinational set and almost everyone was really great (for those that know me, that statement will come as a shock). I firmly believe this is because of the attitude of the owner. Perception SchmepsonI was a bit concerned about visiting Tamarindo, but that shows you how much value one can place in other peoples' opinions. I'd heard it was like Jacó, which isn't my favourite place in Costa Rica. However, I was ple…La Botella de Leche and it was a result. This place is great (see review). - Directions: At the bar Cococabana, go up the hill opposite. Continue to the left after the road forks about 500 metres up. Up the hill another 500 metres. Look for the big milk urn and house painted like a cow.
