Dec 19, 2006Who'd have thought staying in a room that looked like it was part of a converted lorry cargo container could be so cool? For US$8 a night, you get an air-conditioned room for three, access to the kitchen, a TV in the main room with DVD player and the run of the house. The Argentine owner is great (said Tots, Rob and I were model guests!), smokes for her country and is really chilled. You can hire boards and stuff, but I wouldn't recommend them - their quality is far inferior to the professional shops. Most importantly, the place is painted in a fresian cow motif. No idea why, it seems slightly mad, but looks great. Even the ropey bikes are black and white. Most of all though, the people made it. A fully multinational set and almost everyone was really great (for those that know me, that statement will come as a shock). I firmly believe this is because of the attitude of the owner. Perception SchmepsonI was a bit concerned about visiting Tamarindo, but that shows you how much value one can place in other peoples' opinions.
