La Belle Maraîchère - fish restaurant Sep 24, 2009
This fish restaurant was once my first contact with the fabulous Belgian cuisine. The restaurant is situated near the old fish market in the middle of Brussels. It is a place you easily can walk by but if you look in the window you will almost find it full.
La Belle Maraîchère serves fantastic lobster bisque and you should not cheat yourself for that luxury if you are walking these streets. Depending on what the fish market offers La Belle Maraîchère prepare a daily tree-course menu. I have been here a couple of times and I have gotten really great dishes every time. It is not a cheap restaurant. Inside you find yourself back in time with the waiters looking like waiters did in the good old days in black and white. The place has nicely decorated tables and reminds one of a better French restaurant.
