Don't use miami Habitat or miami lodge(same company) we booked 9 days with them staying at l'etoile appartment A on Euclid ave.
It was an absolute dump, when we arrived in Miami from london we were told to phone habitat and some one meet us and do a walk through the appartment. after the 3rd attempt someone answered the phone but instead of doing a walk through he just gave us the combination to the key safe. upon entry the appartment it smelt musty and stale. The appartment is very rundown, furniture is old and worn, The decor is need of a make over. 2 of the dining chairs had mold/mildew on them. A towel in the bathroom looked like it had been used to clean the floor at sometime then hung back on the towel rail. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. The main bedroom had an A/C unit above the bed that looked like it had not been cleaned and was full of dust and fluff, next to it was an electrical socket with it's back plate just screawed to the wall with no recess. When we looked out of the patio doors to look at the pool we got a big shock. The swimming pool floor and sides were green which looked like Alge and the patio area was over grown with weeds. When I phoned Habitat they said they would send someone round. After a 30 minute wait 2 maintenance men arrived they tried to convince me that the dining room chairs are a brushed velvet material and just needed brushing out, i just laughed at him. then he said the Swimming pool had a cleaning chemical added and would been clear in 24 hours. Where were the warning signs to state a cleaning chemical was added? Then strangely a pool cleaning company turned up. When we told the Maintenance man we still wasn't satisfied he phoned his manager. After a short while he passed his phone to me. I think the managers name was Juliette. who just kept saying there was nothing wrong with the appartment although she wouldn't come to the appartment herself to see us. I told her we wanted a differant appartment or our money back. She said there were no other appartments available and if we didn't stay in the appartment we were breaking the contract because as far as she was concerned there was no problems with the appartment so we were not entitled to a refund. I told her we were not staying and we have photo's and would post them on TA. She said she didn't care. She needs to attend a customer relations course as her attitude is appalling. We arrived home to the UK yesterday and i would have expected an e mail of explanation or apology as to why we paid $2200 for 9 days for sub-standard accomadation. If anyone wants to see the Pictures email me and i shall send them. |
