Chic decor, good food Jan 04, 2011
We ate here on January 1st and it was still buzzing at 11:30pm when we left. If you want your waitresses to be slim and tall as they totter around on the highest of heels trying their best to ignore you, if you want the music as loud as a night club, you've come to the right place. But this is Paris and they don't do quiet restaurants with attentive staff, so you can relax and enjoy the great decor and, when you get served, the excellent food. This is ground-breaking in that many French restaurants can be formulaic - many don't change their menus for decades. L'Avenue's use of Thai and Indian influences makes this interesting food. I would also say the chocolate fondant cake is heart-breakingly good! The wine list has some hidden gems too.
