L'Auberge de la Klauss Montenach Reviews
idyllic restaurant with excellent duck products Jan 08, 2011
Situated on the hills of the charming village, montenach, the 'Auberge de la Klauss' is known for its outstanding foie gras and other duck products, as well as pork.
I reserved the table through internet weeks ago, in expectation to eat some good foie gras, and haven' t been disappointed.
As we entered the restaurant, we were cordially received and seated at our table.
decoration is rustic with deer heads and old-fashionned paintings hanging on the walls, it is very charming.
we ordered two glasses of champagne, which was accompanied by rillette and a basket of bread.
For starters, we ordered Pan Fried Foie Gras with apple chutney and carpaccio of duck meat, which was delicious, but we already had trouble getting it down, because of all the bread with rillette we ate.
arriving at the main course, filet rossini for my friend and for me delicious vension, ashamed to say, i had to leave half of it on my plate...
there was no more place in my stomach!
summing up, it was a nice evening with excellent food, good service and a pleasant ambiance.
it' s a bit pricey, but worth every cent.
they do have well-priced menus, though.
