Gastronomy in a small village Apr 06, 2002
In truth, a review of L’Auberge de L’Ill can be summarized in three words, “Michelin Three Star”. The highest rating given by Michelin, three stars is defined by Michelin as “Exceptional cuisine and worth the journey”. That description certainly applies to L’Auberge de L’Ill. In fact, everything about this place is exceptional. Set on the banks of the picturesque river Ill in the bucolic village of Illhaeusern, L’Auberge de L’Ill itself is stunningly beautiful from without and within. The service is excellent without being intrusive and the cuisine is simply beyond description. While the prices are very definitely not for the faint of heart, L’Auberge de L’Ill is a treat for all of the senses.
