L Alexandrin Lyon Reviews
A fan of veggies and spices Jul 01, 2011
Located in a pedestrian street of La Part-Dieu district, this place is now run by Laurent Rigal(awarded* par Michelin guide)who, like his predecessor and mentor is fond of vegetables and spices. We were all a lil surprised to see through the lunch the chef more in the dining room than in its kitchen...
We had yesterday with 6 colleagues the good 38 euro business menu(managed 50 euro by GSK with local wines:Viognier and St Joseph):
-5 good amuse-bouche:beetroot gaspacho,cod accra,green Le Puy lentils and andouillette with à l'ancienne mustard dressing,sweet potato mousseline...
-then I had a pig foot in breadcrumb dressing,a so so fantasy though not heavy but with delicious veggies in particular the young artichokes
-as main,a good duck magret
-a fruit salad with its seasonal sorbet palette
My colleagues enjoyed a tomato and mozarella di buffala verrine but for most of them it needs more tomatoes,a "gones"(gone is a Lyon child) pancake in the Lyons style,a pike mousseline quenelle and its crayfish cream,a lil thick but tasty or a salmon with polenta, madeleines with Guanaja chocolate cake with marmelade of candied oranges with Grand Marnier.
A good canteen but the other menus and the wines are a lil too expensive...
