Kyoto Municipal Zoo Reviews
Very nice zoo in Kyoto Oct 03, 2008
I love visiting zoos and whenever I get the chance, I want to visit one if I'm in a new city. Kyoto Municipal Zoo is also known as Kyoto City Zoo.
The zoo is closely located to the Heian Shrine and I had planned to make a combination of visiting both plces this day.
I bought an entrance ticket for 600 yen (around 5,50 euros or 7,50 US dollars) and spent about 1 hour walking around, seeing most of the 700 animals on display.
I didn't saw one of my favorite animals, the Meerkats, as they weren't kept there. But I did see elephants, apes & monkeys, the big cats, birds, bears and various reptiles.
It's a very nice zoo to visit, if you like animals.
