I was in Kuwait for a few months in the summer of 2004. I was able to get out and see Kuwait City a couple times. It is something else to drive by a herd of camels and then McDonalds.

we moved around a lot within Kuwait till we got to our Camp out in the desert. Besides the sand storms and the boredom everything was pretty much ok. On Christmas Eve we crossed the line and for the next 12 months it was no looking back.

Ok
if you've never heard this song you've been under a rock or
freeze-dried for the last 30 yrs so I recomend you come out from under
there or thaw you'reself. As you can see I've made it back to the hole
to finish out my last few months. I did manage to get over to Dunlop on
the 15th and had a look about. Not much there but a gorgeous place.
Check out the pics in my photo album.
I left my beloved Scotland on the 16th and flew back to Kuwait,
arriving just after midnight. I te...

But like all soldiers heading home, our tolerance for bullshit increases so no one cared about the noise or the heat. That is until we landed in Kuwait.
For those of you that have never been to Kuwait or at least the Army bases near the boarder I would recommend wearing as little as possible. While I and those around me were not afforded such options the heat was intense. We filed off the planes onto busses and began another round of paperwork and were reminded yet again t...
