Kushimura Restaurant in Roppongi (I don't know why the location thingy keeps changing it to "Roppingi", it's ROPPONGI.) Anyway, this was the first place we ate in Japan and it was EXCELLENT! We're glad we knew someone there to act as a tour guide, he certainly did good to bring us here! Not far from Roppongi crossing, they specialize in charcoal grilled Yakitori and Kamameshi. They served many types of food on skewers, prepared and grilled right in front of us. Delicacies such as peppers stuffed with cheese, bacon wrapped asparagus, chicken and garlic, quail eggs, ginko nuts, etc. They would give us each a skewer on a serving tray placed in front of us, and while we practiced our chopstick skills, they were grilling the next course! We washed it down with large glasses of iced tea and Kirin beer. Quite a refreshing change from the airline food we had been eating the previous 15 hours!
