Kumrovec Vacation Guide

Kumrovec is best known for being the birthplace of Marshall Tito, dictator of Yugoslavia from WWII until his death in 1980. The village, founded in the early 1800s on the border with what is now Slovenia, has been restored into a historical park, complete with recreations of period blacksmith shops, weaver's houses, winemaking rooms, and residences - complete with the required bad mannequins. The centerpiece is of course Tito's childhood home, with it's original furnishings, and displays of Tito mementos like his field jacket, portraits with various world leaders, and his pants.
