Kudat Vacation Guide
Kudat was the first Capital of British North Borneo. It is located on the coast of the northernmost part of Sabah.
The journey from Kota Kinabalu to Kudat takes about 3 hours by road. Alternatively, you can take a 40 minutes flight with Malaysia Airlines.
Does sleeping on the floor, without airconditioner/fan & without a lock on your door interests you? If yes, you should definitely stay overnight at a Rungus longhouse while you’re in Kudat! :o)
For those of you who prefer comfort, don’t worry, there is a resort too.
Make sure you make a stop at Gombizau (Honey Farm), Sumangkap (Gong Making) and of course, the Tip of Borneo (Simpang Mengayau) where the South China Sea meets the Sulu Sea.
Although it is common to visit these places through tour operators/companies, it is still possible to visit them on your own. All you have to do is decide.
