Just about 3 hours drive from downtown KL, Sungai Lembing is a very quiet town just less than an hour from Kuantan in Pahang. Used to be the world's largest tin mine back many decades ago, this place has two places worth visiting: Panorama Hill and Rainbow Waterfall. The latter requires an hour of 4WD ride into the jungle followed by another hour hike up the river. An easy and relaxing trip!

The places I most enjoyed were Kuching, Perhentian and Tioman. Bandar Seri Begawan, capital of Brunei is worth visiting.

Pahang's capital, Kuantan, is just about how I expected it to be. It is in a rural-dominant state but has 'some' of the luxuries of a big urban city.
