I'm on the plane home, and I'm realising what an awesome trip we have had.
Adventure, luxury, great food, unique wildlife, freindly people, awesome scenery ... not to mention, challenges unlike anything I'd ever attempted before (eg. the mountain climb). I'd definitely recommend Malaysia as a holi…

I checked out and left Georgetown with happy memories. I caught the ferry bound for Butterworth and immediately a bus to Kuala Lumpur. I was pleased I’d get to the capital with a little bit of time for a final look around. I got there early in the evening and f…

We are currently killing time in Kuala Lumpur, whilst waiting for our Indian visas to be processed....
We had heard that the Olympic torch would be in town, so we thought it might be fun, to go check it out.
From doing a little bit of research on the internet, we knew that the relay would be endi…

I got to Kuala Lumpur in the afternoon, and had arrived at the LCCT Terminal. I hadnt been to that one before so looked around, and found a taxi that would take me to my hotel. I decided to stay at The Tune Hotel, as I had heard some really good review about it, and it looked clean, and was central…

The Jalan TAR pasar malam is one night market that is nowhere near a residential area. It comes alive every Saturday after 6pm in the back alley of the main thoroughfare. This could very well be the mother of all night markets. If you've never been here, you might be a little disoriented at first t…

KL is one of the very few places in the world that I have visited
twice. I was there eight years ago on my way to New Zealand when I
took advantage of a free five night stay in a five star hotel for
flying with Malaysia airlines. I was a very inexperienced traveler
at that point and…

KL - it was my 3rd time in KL and as expected, I didn't like it. Not much to see actually and there's nothing grand about Twin Towers/Petronas Tower. Bali - what was the hype all about!?!? Bali didn't even come close to Philippine's Boracay!

Hello intrepid readers!
The past week has been hilariously fun, exhausting, and filled with good people and events. I traveled to a tiny island in Indonesia called Gili Trawangan for 4 days. It was tiny, super blue water, lots of pubs (well...when I say a lot, that means maybe 5), and …

About three Sundays ago, I made a date to meet a friend for lunch at the Suria KLCC, a classy, upmarket mall located at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. We planned to meet at the Ground Floor, overlooking the concourse.
I arrived 15 minutes early, so caught up on some reading…

We flew back to KL and managed to hit rush hour once we got to Sentral from the airport (via the Skybus). We eventually got to our hotel, the Citrus, a 4 star jobby that we booked as a cheap deal on one of the lat minute hotel sites online. For the same price as we paid for the hostel we stayed in …
