The best of Kruja Aug 21, 2011
Kruja is a beautiful and historical city in the center of Albania.
What you should not miss in Kruja are the Old Baazar, a straight road with stones, full of shops selling ancient things like clothes that were dressed too many years ago, materials that were used, postcards and of course many other things like jewelry or paints. In this road there is also a shop where many women sew carpets.
The castle is the most beautiful sight in Kruja. Is a fortress where inside of it are the Museum dedicated all to the national hero; the ethnographic museum where you can see how were the old houses of the Albanians. Also there is the clock tower, used once upon a time like a tower for giving signals with the other castles especially during the war with the ottomans.
In the center of the city there is the monument of Skenderbeg, the hero that fought against the ottomans.
A special view is obtained from the mountain which you can climb it on foot or by car.
