Calm, pleasant atmosphere at a ultra reasonable price Aug 27, 2009
If you're in Jaipur, this is the place to stay. It came out roughly at $13USD per night for a fairly large room with a comfortable bed. Location is a 5 minute ride from the hectic center of town, which is a huge plus. The bathroom is where it loses points because the shower is just on the side of the wall and everything tends to get wet, also it takes a while to heat up and warm showers arent possible at night, but that's actually good for India, from what I hear. There is a rooftop restaurant with a fantastic view of Jaipur and the food is cheap, and surprisingly very good. It just takes a while to arrive because it's all made fresh (I ordered papaya lassi and saw them walk into the kitchen with papaya and all the ingredients to my meal).
This little hotel really stands out when it comes to service. Mr. Vinun and family are very nice and helpful in many ways and bailed us out a few times, namely when we missed our train out of Jaipur. It's always cool to just sit out in the front yard and talk with whoevers staying or Mr. Vinun himself. Part of the India (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur) Summer 09 travel blog |

a lovely stay, but they need to improve their food Oct 01, 2009
I booked through hotelbookers, for 2 nights at first, but ended up staying a further night. my room had no ac for 550RS, and breakfast is not included. they have a rooftop restaurant with an extensive menu, opened from 7am to 11pm. the coffee comes to 25RS, 4 slices of toast with jam at about 40 RS. there is also pizza on offer, but i am not sure if it would always be available. service is very good and attentive.
i had a double room on the first floor and it was very neat and clean, with beautiful patterned ceilings. i did find it a bit too hot to sleep comfortably at 30 degrees... my room also had a balcony and i have my morning yoga practice there. internet is available via a single desktop on the ground floor, but the owner is planning to add another 2 terminals. the property has wireless though if you have your own laptop. accessing the internet was charged at 25RS for half an hour. they helpfully provided me with a map and gave me some tips on the amount to pay for autorickshaws in the area, and told me to avoid shops. they did not recommend any shops themselves, which adds to their appeal as i don't think they look for commissions from shops. i had a pleasant stay and Mr Vinod and his family were very kind and considerate throughout it all. definitely a repeat for me.
