Kranjska Gora is situated in the far north western corner of Slovenia, on the edge of the Triglav National Park. Ljubljana is 90 km away. The nearest railway station is in Jesenice - 23 km from Kranjska Gora. Buses run every hour to Ljubljana (on weekdays).
Kranjska Gora is mostly known by ski world cup, also known as the Vitranc Cup. Alpine village, in treeangle of Slovenia, Austria- 3km away and Italy- 5km away. This town is most famous for its winter sports but is the heart of the valley in summer too. It offers many sport events and plenty of enetrainment for all who enjoy sport, parties and fun. There are supermarkets, a bank, a post office, a well equipped medical centre, a police station, a tourist information office, several sports shops, ski hire shops, ski schools, numerous bars and restaurants in the village. Although there are several large hotels, the village centre retains its own identity. Nearby is a picturesque lake with a statue of the Zlatarog, the mythical guardian of mount Triglav. There are also lots of nice places to visit in neighbouring villages in the area. The world famous ski jumps at Planica and Tamar Valley should not be missed, and there is a spectacular waterfall at Mojstana. A map can be bought from the tourist information office in the village which shows a number of well marked walks and footpaths in and around the village. From Kranjska Gora head south over the breathtaking Vrsic Pass, some 5,253 feet above sea level.
