Krakow's Historic Centre Reviews
beautiful day and night Oct 12, 2006
Krakow is one of the many beautiful historic cities in Central Europe. It's quite touristy, but not as bad as Prague or Budapest.
The area around the Rynek (market square) dates back to the 13th and 14th centuries and is mostly unspoiled by modern architecture. There are also Kazimierz, the medeaval Jewish quarter, Wawel hill with it's castle and cathedral, and the Jagellonian University.
Krakow is a beautiful place to walk around during the day, but it's at night that it really comes to life. In the old town there are many vaulted cellar bars. Kazimierz is more popular with locals.
