Krakow Jan 27, 2017
Krakow is in Poland,i stayed 4 nights at the Europejski Hotel near the rail station, and could have stayed longer.Krakow is busy but not crowded.A great place to use has a base for trips out.I went to the Wieliczka Salt Mine by Mini Bus.Zakopane by bus to this wooden town. Also to Auschwitz and Birkenau Camps by tour bus.-The city centre has a fine system of tourist signs,in Polish and English, with distances. The main street is Florianska street, the main square is Rynek Glowny with cafes and bar. Highlight is St Marys Basilica with its two high towers. Schindlers factory is on the other side of the river from town.-There are loads of electric tour cars in Krakow doing different routes. There are also horsedrawn carriages. The Barican is at the end of Florianska street ,this is from the city original defences.- The Wawel castle is at the other end of town near the river.-There is a bus station near the rail station.

Poland's Ace Jul 28, 2013
Krakow is Poland's ace I think... spend time here... other than taking in its historical importance (though it was not razed like Warsaw was in WW-II, it has the most haunting Nazi camps nearby in Auschwitz and Birkenau)... the city is beautiful ... its central square Rynek Glowny is among Europe's largest and liveliest and most photogenic, with a market place building within the square ... and the restaurants, cafes and shops lining the square offer good treats ... especially check out the jazz clubs here that really liven up in the night with good bands...Jagiellonian University here is famous and worth a visit... and there are numerous excursions you can take from here ... into the salt mines, the Zakopane resorts and some nearby cities ... stay at the University-linked Nawojka if you can for a cheap central stay... eat at the joints in the central square or in the many streets flowing off the square...
