Oh, happy, happy day. OK, I will tell you all about it. Woke up early -- before 6 -- in anticipation of an early departure to today's destination: Koyasan. Koyasan, listed on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sights, is a monastic center at the top of Mount Koya with a whole bunch of temples and sigh…

4th times visiting Japan.. Got so relaxing and culture experience this time.. I was almost dying with extremely busy work by holding a festival in the end of 2007. Fortunately, I did feel refresh and get better after staying Japan for 2 week, doing nothing, eating assorted tasteful food and traveling most of facinating cities not only in Kansi area, namely, Osaka, Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto, Kobe and Hemiji, but also Mie, Toba and Ise.. Koyashan is no doubt still my favourit!!

I love Kansai region, as they have so many great things to see and eat :) Most of the time, I chose to stay in Kyoto, but this time, I visited Koya-san, Yoshino, and Himeji. It was a bit too early for cherry blossom, but I really had a great time there.

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.

Life in a monestary
posted by:
Nov 08, 2009 – Nov 28, 2009
We left Osaka in the morning, and took several trains, busses and subways to reach the monestary (and consequently tourist) town of Koyasan.  This was the part of the tour where we escape the hustle and bustle of the city and escape to the seclusion of a working shukubo (or temple).  And …
