It's come to this...Travel today is now defined by stickers.
Stickers, mind you, that is now used to identify ourselves to our respective travel representatives when we get to our destination. In this case it was Hong Kong. Did you guys know that cab fare from the Hong Kong Airport till the Kowloon Hotel is roughly $300 HK? That is if there isn't any traffic. Forgive me, I just wanted to throw that in there. Now to the hotel and accommodations. The Kowloon Hotel is located along Nathan Road in the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. It is also conviniently located new Adidas, HMV, Swindon Bookstore, Nike, and Ocean Terminal (I personally recommend Page One Bookstore, Toys R' Us, and the Mix eatery). Back to the Kowloon Hotel, some of the things that I really looked forward to during my stay were their comfortable beds and complimentary buffet. You can also count on housekeeping doing their job as they will clean up everything--even the glass that I put my toothbrush in. |

Part of our six week tour through Asia,
we went to Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan staying one week in the
first three, three weeks in Japan. Hong Kong is amazing, we flew
through the clouds into the airport, you see the peeks of the
mountai…Hong Kong island and viewed the sights, we took the peak tram
(scary, fast and fun) down to the city and took an open top bus back
to the terminal and went back to the hotel. Hong Kong is just breath
taking. I have heard… I love love love love Hong Kong!!!!! |

Morning was consumed by getting ready for the evening's overnight train journey. While going out for some snacks and food for the train, I did manage to stop at a Tin Hau Temple just a short walk from the hotel and explore this small Chinese B…Hong Kong who is the goddess of the seas. Inside there were many locals offering alms and prayers to the goddess.
Heading back to the hotel I stopped and grabbed a last lunch in Hong Kong, realizing that I needed to come back and explore… One last morning in Hong Kong |

(Quick In Trip Update) Well, I've made it to Hong Kong from Nepal and on to the next stage of the journey. I have so many photos to post and journal entries to enter that I'm not sure when I'm going to have time to get everything in while I'm …hotel and then back to my room later in the evening. All in all a really lazy day.
Swine Flu Update - The first case of swine flu was detected in Hong Kong today. They quarantined the entire hotel where it was found for 7 days… Finally in Hong Kong |
