Kotane - The Maori Experience
Kotane - The Maori Experience Reviews
Fun and informative Aug 18, 2008
A group of us started gathering near the lady who was going to lead us through this experience. The lady picks one of the group (Andrew this time) to be the "Chief" of our tribe.
While leading us along the path and telling us about tribal life, Andrew was always first, followed by his wife (yours truly), and then the rest of the tribe was to follow. We were confronted by warriors from another tribe which the Chief had to deal with. All niceties dealt with and we were allowed into their camp with a greeting by their Chief. Not telling you all of the details. See for yourself if you get the chance. We then went into a hut and watched some tribal dances and the men got to do the Huka and some of us ladies got to swing the Poi. A fun time! |

As it wasn't a very long drive to Christchurch we decided to go straight to Orana Wildlife Park as I wanted to see the rhinoseros being fed. It was a lovely day…… Timaru to Christchurch |
