Koryo Hotel Pyongyang Reviews
You stay where you are instructed...! Nov 15, 2010
We were supposed to stay at the Yanggakdo Hotel in Pyongyang but due to it being the anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party we had to be moved at the last minute to the Koryo Hotel.
It is a pretty impressive looking building and has a spacious and extravagant entrance foyer, if somewhat dated. Check-in was simple, and went up int the lift to the 33rd floor pretty quickly. The room was very quiet and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and there was a nice outlook over the surrounding area. The bathroom was similar to the ones I had used in Japan, it was all plastic and not very appealing, but it was perfectly satisfactory. The room was very clean, but rather dated.
Breakfast was pretty average, not many choices and not particularly tasty. There are good amenities in the hotel with gift shop, bar, restaurants and other facilities if you have the time to make use of them.
Overall a very comfortable stay, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
