Kopaonik Vacation Guide
Kopaonik is the biggest mountain massif in Serbia with its highest peak of 2017 m above sea level. One big part of the mountain is protected area known as the National Park of Kopaonik with the largest ski center in Serbia. Its highest peak is Pancicev peak named after Josif Pancic, most famous Serbian naturalist. Entire massif is known for its huge ore and mineral wealth which has been exploited since the middle ages, and its wide area consists of numerous cultural and historical monuments dating from XII to XV century.
With almost 200 sunny days per year, Kopaonik deserves its other name "Sunny mountain". Considering the fact that its southern position, altitude and openness prevent retaining of the clouds above the mountain, cold air drops down to the surrounding plains, so that winter temperatures never become too low. The average year temperature is about 4 degrees C. Snow season begins at the end of November and can last till May, with average of 160 snow days, which gives the perfect conditions for ski lovers.
Thanks for its developed tourist center with modern hotels, Kopaonik stands for one of the most popular tourist destinations in Serbia

Kopaonik is the best place in Serbia for skiing. With plenty of snow and lots of sunny days it gives you great conditions for skiing. Lots of cofee bars and restaurants on the very slopes are ideal for breaks between skiing lessons, and night life is the best.
