Closed from the 3/11/2011 tsunami :'( Jul 28, 2011
After 45 years they closed this little piece of paradise because of the damage from the tsunami. This place was absolutely gorgeous. No phones, no tv's...just the sound of the waves crashing. I spent 7 absolutely fabulous days here parked in my hammock right outside of our hale. We stayed in a royal hale so we had more privacy and a nice hot tub on the deck. Kids are allowed on the resort so I really enjoyed being away from everyone and everything. I didn't mind the walk into the main section of the resort. It was like walking through a lush paradise everyday. The food was SO good...the fruit, like candy. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. I feel awful the resort has closed just because of all the lost jobs and for those that made this a second home. I will always have cherished special memories of Kona Village and I hope they can rebuild. So for now...a hui hou.

Perfect stay Nov 28, 2010
I spent one glorious night here. I felt like a movie star. Checking in takes awhile. I think they run a background check. Beach is gorgeous. The 4 Seasons is a short walk. The food was elegant, the drinks a bit expensive. They are closed for awhile . Had significant tsnumi damage.
