Kona Canoe Club

David and I wanted to explore the shopping area. We found some of the stores were closed down (the economy sucks right now...) and others were quite empty. We found Kona Canoe Club by accident.

It is a nice little open air restaurant built in the middle of the mall. It has a great ocean view... it's right on the water. We loved that. We took a seat and the waiter, quickly approached. We decided on the Happy hour Margarita at $3.95... it was a very good margarita!

Most of the tables were unoccupied...(but the actual town seemed deserted to us.. it was no reflection on the restaurant) We decided to order a snack. I got a bowl of clam chowder (it was very good...heavy on potatoes but plenty of clams...) and David got the Shrimp Bucket (the sign said at least 21 shrimp... we counted .. yep... 21!....) David's shrimp came with a very good sauce but he ran out... when he couldn't find the waiter he used catsup... it works...

The atmosphere was relaxing...Soft rock was playing in the background... it was great with the sound of the ocean waves. We sat for quite a while enjoying the restaurant. Hopefully it will be as nice for others who enjoy this cute place...
