Kampong Thom, home to one of the earlier cities of Cambodian history, Sambor Prei Kuk is a small bustling town with not much to see. However many travel through without noticing the potential sites that are within this province.
Some sites that are a tad more adventurous than your highway travels can lead you to some forgotten ruins deep in Cambodia. Such sites include Preah Kahn, Kor Ker, and many others that have yet to lure the tourist numbers in. Kor Ker is a city in itself with over 100 ruins located around the area.
From Kampong Thom one can also venture further up north towards the Cambodian-Thai border to reach Prasat Preah Vihear Ruins which is located at the most esquisite location; on a clifftop.
