Central Europe summer 2005 with Lene

Once you visit Europe.... you want to come back soon!!! It did certainly happened to me. For this trip I visited again the czech republic, hungary, slovakia and visited by fist time Poland, Berlin and Vienna. Nice countries and it is difficult to decide one particular city or country because everything was so NICE and fantastic!! I felt in Eastern Europe like a child with a new toy looking at such wonderful places and making friends on my way!!

Joining a company event to Štúrovo in southern Slovakia with my ex-colleges after I had left the company 2 weeks before (got an exeption) gave me the opportunity to visit one of the oldest cities in Hungary just across the river Danube. All I had to do was to cross the bridge.

We've spent the last few days biking through the Hungarian countryside. The bike paths are pot-holed or non-existant, but the roads are quiet, so it can be quite peaceful. Our favourite part about biking through Hungary so far is the fields of crops we pass on the route. Sunflowers, wheat, hay, corn and many others are are growing tall in this sunny region and attest to the fertility of the Danube flood plain.
