Kolka Overview

A small village in a scenic location of cape Kolka, Latvia. The place where Riga's bay meets the Baltic sea. The village itself is very small with almost no locals outside of the season. It has two shops, a guest house, a sports field and nothing more.

The village is full of history, particularly from the livi tribes that occupied the coast centuries ago. The cape itself is landmarked by a pile of huge rocks, but since the coastline is shifting, they get slowly washed away into the sea every year.

Beautiful sandy beaches, peacful rural area and clean air - a perfect summer holiday destination and a must-see place for anyone travelling aorund Latvia.

WARNING: The actual cape is not fit for swimming, because the bay and sea waters when meeting form underwater currents which may darg swimmers underwater.
