Koh Tao Cabana Resort

Have been here in august/ september 2007 after having roughed it for about 3,5 weeks touring Thailand.

After one night in another tacky resortstyle bungalow, we went looking for something a bit more upmarket. And guess what, we've found it!

Up north on Haad Sai Ree beach is Koh Tao Cabana, some pretty good bungalows with either beach, ocean or gardenview. Because we just walked in that morning, the beach/seaview bungalows were not available anymore, so we got a garden one. Which actually wasn't too bad because it saved us walking up a lot of steps, but on the other hand, the view is awesome when you get higher up and you can watch some great sunsets lying in your hammock on the porch!

Overall the staff was very helpfull, from the waiters untill the greenkeepers. The latter offered us fresh coconuts from the trees you are lying under when your on the beach.

The restaurat is good. They serve good Thai and westerners food but what really makes it worth eating here is yet again, the view. You're sitting above the sea while sipping down your coffee and munching in on breakfast.

The beach is actually a bit secluded from the rest, which makes it nice and quiet. The daybeds are available for guests which makes it really comfy! On the downside, being all the way up north it is a bit of a walk to the village, but on the other hand, it makes for a nice stroll in the morning.
