Koh-I-Noor Restaurant (indian) Travel Reviews

Excellent Indian food in Amsterdam! Apr 08, 2008
Visited in December 2007. To be fair I have only eaten at a handful of Indian restaurants, but this is by FAR the best one, even compared to a lot of other non-indian places. I can be picky about food sometimes but there was nothing on my plate that could be critisized.. and thats rare! I think I had the Chicken Madras, it was hot hot hot but soo good!! The meat was perfect (sometimes in asian cooking I feel like they're using mostly cutoffs to keep the cost down, but this was good chuncks of all white and tender, juicy chicken!). The Nan bread had perfect amounts of cheese and garlic.. we had to order extra for dipping in the sauce :) My friend had ground lamb (I think it was Lamb Keema Matter), I sampled that too and although I'm not the greatest fan of lamb, it was good! not really spicy so there should be something for people that don't like to break out in sweats over their food as well. And best of all it didn't cost much :) Would definately recommend to anyone who likes Indian, or even anyone who wants to TRY indian. Darn it.. now I've written myself into an Indian food craving :/ Want to buy teleport to Koh-I-Noor!

suusjeg says: Old looking restaurant, serves Tapas (spanisch little dishes). Very authentic. The Sangria (sparkling wine and fruit) is great. According to many, this is the best tapas restaurant in town.
dancinslyf says: Although it can be quite expensive, if you are looking for classic dutch pancakes (not like American pancakes) try The Pancake Bakery on the Prinsengracht. It's not far from the Anne Frank House. You can get sweet or savory fillings....delicious!
nansje23 says: If you ever are in Holland, you must go and eat at Nam-Kee!! They have 2 restaurants one on the Geldersekade and one on Zeedijk. The food is very good and absolutely not expensive.. It's very cheap!
