Koh Chang is located in the Trat province, in south-east Thailand. It's the second biggest island in the country, and has some 5000 people living there. There is a road that follows the coastline, almost all the way around the island. On the west coast you'll find most of the beaches, whilst the center of the island is covered by forest - perfect for a hike! Most of the island is still a national park and well preserved.

For travellers, there's a wide range of places to stay the night, from the cheapest bungalows to the most fancy hotels. The government is working hard to keep the island clean and preserve the wildlife both on land and in the ocean. To help fund this, high class tourism seems to be the priority from now on.
