Koala Park Sanctuary West Pennant Hills Reviews
Cuddling with Koalas Jan 14, 2009
This was definitely my favorite experience during my trip to Sydney. It costs AUD 19 to get into the park, which isn't a lot of money, but you also need to factor in transportation to get out there. It took about an hour for us, leaving from Circular Quay and taking the train. You can also take a cab, but we heard that might run around $50 to get out there, so we opted for public transportation.
Anyway. The Koala Park is fantastic! At the entrance, you have the option of buying kangaroo food for about $1.50 - do it. The park has a lot in common with petting zoos, because a lot of animals just wander around free of cages. There are koala, penguin and wombat shows a few times a day, which means you get to pet and cuddle with them. There's also a large kangaroo enclosure, where you actually get to interact with about a dozen kangaroos - petting, feeding, hanging out, etc. The park itself is pretty small, but there is a lot to do there and it's a great way to spend a morning. =)
