It made for somewhat of a long day but I was able to leave Sihanoukville at nine-thirty in the morning and get to Lonely Beach on Ko Chang, Thailand, just after nightfall. Two boats make the 4 hour run between Sihanoukville and Koh Kong now - one going and one coming. I found a spot on top of the boat as far forward as possible. If seas became rough, the pilot-house cabin would deflect spray and keep me dry. But the ride went smooth. Just a few miles before we reached the island...

This morning I woke up still feeling a little sick as I was the day before. I can't quite figure out what it is as I haven't been physically sick as yet, hopefully it'll subside soon (its probably due to too many beers). I headed to the beach (well I say headed, its 2 seconds away) in the morning to get rid of my pale skin that I'm famed for, I purchased some factor 12 sun screen after being burnt slightly with the factor 8 I already had (the highest factor cream I could find in the shop in L...

I stayed in Ko Chang, an island east of Bangkok, for five days. It was so chilled out and relaxing. I didn't do much but hang out, but here are some pics of things I did do.

I'm replacing the old entry here with one I wrote on Oct. 7 on the boat which is a bit longer-
So here I am in Ko Chang, where we have been for about two
weeks now. We were only supposed to be
here for a couple days, but the morning we left our engine died just as we
raised anchor. The problem turned out to
be a bit bigger than we’d thought, so Jim has brought in mechanics from Marsun
and Caterpillar and has even flown to Singapore twice himself. I think (knock...

well, we finally made it to koh chang the next morning (yesterday) and it's a very beautiful (if very slow moving) ferry ride. the the only hiccup to the journey was the entrepreneurial pickup truck guy (what they use for transport around here) tries to fill up his truck with as many people as possible - he quoted 40 baht to us and a slightly higher amount to others going further down the island, but when the next ferry came with no people to fill up the truck, he starts t...

Last Oct. My friend Melodie and I went to Thailand. We didn't have much fun in Bangkok, although there were plenty of ladyboys to dance with. But we enjoyed riding elephants in Ko Chang.

We arrived in Ko Chang to less than perfect weather. The skies were very grey and the sea was not tropical blue (apparently looked like Cornwall to some British girls). We spent three days checking out the island. Tried to go swimming but the the currents were very dangerous (many have recently drowned) so we didn't get much past our knees. On our last day we did the elephant tour which was lots of fun. We didn't expect to be swimming with them so that was a nice surprise (it would ...

Heathrow to Delhi, Delhi to Kathmandu joined by Moses (Hannah!) (bit of trekking), Nepal to N.India, down South and round to Goa and Mumbai, then over to Northern, then South Eastern Thailand. Simple as that (I think not..)

Greetings travelers and travel readers! I am not exactly sure where the Asian winds will be taking me, but I have from today, Jan 4, 2008 through April 25 (or when my money runs out) to tour around. Please pop in and see what shenanigans and adventures have come my way.
